Bell Microproducts Announces Agreement With Ambient Technologies to Distribute ICs for Modems, Internet Connectivity and Home Networking/Automation Products
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 16, 1999--Bell Microproducts Inc. (Nasdaq:BELM) and Ambient Technology, Inc. today announced a North American distribution agreement. The agreement allows Bell Microproducts to sell and provide value-added technical support for Ambient's complete line of integrated circuits (ICs) for modems, Internet connectivity and home networking/automation products throughout North America.

Bell Micro will distribute Ambient's full line of 56K V.90 modem IC products (PCI, ISA & PCMCIA), including the recently released MD567X USB modem chip set and reference design. Bell Micro will also distribute Ambient's new ADSL ''Lite'' (G.Lite) and home networking/automation products. Ambient's G.Lite solution is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 1999, with home networking/automation following soon thereafter in 2000.
