Hi Tim, That SPEEDUS (SPDE) I told you about the other day has been a wild ride this week. Made some very good returns. Here is the latest news. SPEEDUS.COM Announces License with Netscape to Integrate Customized Version of Netscape Communicator 4.5 Browser with SPEED(SM) Internet Service NEW YORK, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- SPEEDUS.COM (Nasdaq: SPDE) today announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Netscape Communications. This licensing agreement provides SPEEDUS.COM with the rights to integrate a customized version of the Netscape Communicator 4.5 browser with its high SPEED Internet service. SPEEDUS.COM's customized version of Netscape Communicator 4.5 provides its customers with standards-based solutions for accessing information over the Internet. SPEEDUS.COM chose Netscape Communicator 4.5 because it is a full-featured browser that includes support for Dynamic HTML, and, in particular, the full scope of Java technologies including planned support of the Java Foundation Classes. SPEEDUS.COM's version of Netscape Communicator 4.5 includes short cuts to the Company's web page and customized pull down menus. SPEEDUS.COM customers have the ability to read help files, review modem settings and download the latest drivers and software through a customized pull up menu that is available in the customized version of Netscape Communicator. SPEEDUS.COM is integrating the customized version of Communicator with its SPEED modem drivers and associated software. SPEEDUS.COM's customized version is available to its customers through the SPEEDUS.COM website. SPEEDUS.COM has initiated a SPEED Internet service pilot program and is connecting its first Internet subscribers. SPEEDUS.COM's customers are able to browse the World Wide Web utilizing a SPEED modem capable of downstream speed up to 48Mbps. The SPEED service requires the purchase and installation of the SPEED modem. The SPEED modems are currently only available from the Company for $350. The Company plans to arrange financing for the cost of the SPEED modem to consumers and to increase its signal coverage area before commencing a major marketing campaign. Increased signal coverage through additional Internet Broadcast Stations is crucial to widespread availability of the SPEED service. SPEEDUS.COM is a high-speed broadcast Internet Service Provider in New York City, capable of delivering data to customers at downstream speeds 31 times faster than T-1 lines. This speed gives SPEEDUS.COM the unique ability to ''multi-cast'' and ''stream'' entertainment quality full screen, full motion video and audio to its Internet customers. SPEEDUS.COM is delivering Internet service to customers via Internet Broadcast Stations in operation under its FCC license covering Metro New York. The service is marketed under the service mark SPEED. SPEEDUS.COM also provides standard direct dial-up and ISDN service with web hosting and e-mail value added Internet services. While the Company's signal cannot be received at all locations within its licensed area, SPEEDUS.COM believes that where its signals penetrate, the Company offers both business and residential customers the lowest-cost, highest downstream speed Internet access available.
