Minerva Systems, Inc. - Booth S6659
Minerva Systems will demonstrate a Broadband IP Video Network using the Minerva VNP product. The VNP(TM) (Video Network Platform) is a video processing platform designed to deliver broadcast-quality video to IP networks. Nine live video streams will be IP Multicast and available for playback in a variety of applications; seven from within the booth, a feed from the Miralite NAB booth (S4844) and a live feed from Maryland over the DirectPC satellite. The streams will be used to show a number of real-life business applications such as Distance Learning and Training, Video-on-Demand, Business Television, Learning-on-Demand, Video Cataloging. Other vendors participating in the booth demonstration will be Silicon Graphics, StellarOne, SourceNet, Digital Media Solutions, Hughes DirecPC, Digital Editing Solutions, Virage and Miralite. The backbone of the network will be the Packet Engines' PowerRail 2200 Routing Switch, a high performing non-blocking routing switch, with wire-speed, packet-by-packet routing of nearly 15 million packets-per-second for IPv4, IPv6 and IPX (RIP, RIPv2, BGP-4, OSPF, SAP) traffic. The Miralite booth will be connected to Minerva's booth using a PowerRail 1000 Routing Switch, which supports wire-speed routing at nearly 7 million packets-per-second for IP traffic.
Sony - Booth L16730
Sony Corporation is a leading manufacturer of audio, video, communications and information technology products for the consumer and professional markets. Sony will demonstrate a new product, ClipEdit(TM), allowing journalists and reporters to view material for which they are writing copy. The writers can edit the clips and adjust the audio levels to prepare the clips for broadcast. Two PowerRail 1000 Routing Switches will be used to distribute the streaming proxy material. Packet Engines' G-NIC II Gigabit Network Interface Cards will be installed in the proxy streamservers enabling a streamserver PC to handle multiple clients.
Viewgraphics - Booth S4341
Viewgraphics is a leading manufacturer of digital media products widely used by professionals in the television broadcast and film industries. The demonstration will incorporate Viewgraphics' DTVnet gateway product to run D1 serial digital video and compressed MPEG-2 video streams over Gigabit Ethernet IP networking to show collaborative video production and broadcast solutions spanning local, metropolitan, regional and wide area networks. The PowerRail 1000 Routing Switch will be utilized as the network backbone for this demonstration.
Grande Vitesse Systems - Booth S8753
Grande Vitesse is an integrator, specializing in high performance/customized graphics servers, RAID storage, Network solutions and powerful workstations. Their booth demonstration will use the Packet Engines' PowerRail 1000 Routing Switch to carry the large video and animation files between the GVS9000 video editing system and the Metropolis 3500 video server, equipped with Packet Engines' G-NIC II Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface Cards. This is a complete non-linear workflow system, including high-end video editing stations, animation and modeling stations and video capturing equipment. In addition, Packet Engines' equipment can also be seen at the following vendor booths: Alcatel - S7228 and Optivision - S8644.
