It's quite a spread, I agree - but not so unusual for this one. No scientific basis for this, but if memory serves me correctly spread becomes extremely large just prior to a move - up or down. I've often thought MM's protecting themselves against sudden move. Such a thin float, doesn't take much to get it running one way or the other.

As to traders making money on the spread, I don't think so. MMs maybe, but not traders. I was bidding between the spread last couple of days and MM's wouldn't even show my bid. Finally got some 1/8th below the ask, and the rest at the ask. Ask then dropped below my purchase price. Go figure! Trials and tribulations of owning a BB stock.

Anybody going to be at NAB next week? I'd sure like to hear a first person report on the Virage/IVT demonstration.

It's a HUGE spread. Low volume plus volatility usually lead to this. I don't follow BB stocks that much -- maybe someone else knows how common this is.
