>>> There's always some holding back until it's really a done deal.

And other's who didn't hear the rumors. But the point is, Long Term.

I first started using CheckFree in 1993. At first it was a little hard to get use to the idea of no paper checks, but after a few months months of use, I fell in love with the service and the company. I've talked to many people about the service and the company since that time.

I'm wondering how many of the future consumers (via Yahoo) will follow the same path as I did.

I agree that the stock may actually take a hit on the day they formally make the Yahoo announcement (or run up a number of points but settle back by day's end).

HOWEVER, going back to a previous post, I really believe that the excitement will come from any as-yet unannounced billers that will be newly available under the CF umbrella. MCI, a couple of regional
utilities and the Small Business Association won't cut it, IMO. Let's see AMEX, ATT, Sprint, Qwest, a cable company or two, etc.

Also, it seems that Yahoo DOES like to keep the lid on developments and roll them out slowly, until they know they can handle the scale problems involved. Look how little promotion they did on their new on-line tax form service, or the redesign of MyYahoo, or the Yahoo Pager, etc.

Just my humble opinion...
