I'm not sure I follow your "therefore". But as to whether Serbians will let go of Kosovo, I understand that to them it is central to their sense of nation and people, and they would no more willing let it be turned over to U.S. control than England would let the City be turned over to Russian control.

Northern Ireland is in some ways a better example--would England and Ireland have agreed to allow Warsaw Pact military forces take over Northern Ireland to monitor the peace treaty? But there is also a significant difference -- few of the English consider Northern Ireland the cradle of their civilization and the location of many of their most cherished monuments. We in the U.S. who have a much shorter history really have no visceral ability to understand what Kosovo means to Yugoslavia -- yet even in our short history we can look back and see how bitterly we fought to keep the South from seceeding, and how willing we were to have Sherman loot, pillage, and burn in the name of peace.

Gustave,

They Serbian media are controlled by thr State and the Serbian public
willnever now about the correct body count! I live in North of Italy,
and I get to watch Sky News and BBC that often show clips from Belgrade TV. They have a propaganda machine that feeds the public lies, and Serbian public drinks that!

Your quite correct as Milosovic replacing Albanians with Serbs. Most of these Serbs lost their home in Croatia (Slavonia) and Bosnia. There
are about one million of them and he needs the space!!

I don't think there is an easy way out! Here in the West we do body
body count, unlike the Serbians- Iwonder how the public will re-act when the first body bags arrive in our ports from Kosvo?? Do we have
the resolve to stop this mad man???
