I sometimes think the human race is a hive, our purpose is to achieve collective consciousness and the history of man's development of communications is the evidence.

Jon, this is what is most interesting of all, if we can step back for a moment. We are an organism like any other, and we evolve almost like any other--a "mutation" that quickly becomes incoroporated by the organism and allows rapid evolutionary growth, such as the hand, alhtough there are myriad examples from bacteria up--and in this case, the "mutation" is self induced, consciously, but its the ability to connect globally through broadband internet access and applications--

The printing press is an apt analogy.

Jon,

Either that or we are a swarm of narcissistic ants on a giant rock hurtling through space with no clear idea of where we came from or where we are going but not wanting to be underdressed when we arrive.

Cheers,
