Not really. If EMC closed at 110, as you theorized, then all the Calls above that would be worthless, but the 105 would have value. All the Puts above 110 would have value though, while those below it would be worthless -- just the opposite of the Calls.

Owning a Call gives you the right to buy the stock at that price from someone. A Put gives you the right to sell the stock at that price to someone.
