SUNW: Sold at open at 56 5/16. Bought yesterday at 58. I violated my rule of selling at top of anticipatory upswing before earnings come out....could have sold at 60...

Earnings are old news, even good earnings, shortly before they are actually announced. I paid the penalty for not adhering to my own self imposed discipline- thinking that it would run through earnings.....which would be a rare instance....

I bought back at 55, sold again at 56+, thus just about breaking even......I just didn't want another long term in my portfolio at this time......especially with average-down shares added to original position....

Sticking to my discipline always pays off longer term, even though some times I miss out on additional gains by exiting.....

Moral: I do very well trading for a living, and yet I am still vulnerable to some of my own thinking and emotional responses...in other words, still learning(hopefully).

I will still watch SUNW because I like the company a whole lot......just not the right time for me as an individual.

Holding: FORE, IATV, AG, IDTC, NOVL as short-intermediate term positions.
