AOL, AutoConnect in Web used-car ad pact
DULLES, Va., April 15 (Reuters) - America Online Inc.
<AOL.N> and AutoConnect.com, the largest used-car Web site,
said Thursday they reached an agreement to make AutoConnect the
main source for used-car classified ads on AOL.
The companies said that under the 26-month agreement, AOL,
the No. 1 online service, will receive guaranteed payments
totaling $17 million.
In exchange, AutoConnect will exclusively provide used
automotive listings on the "ClassifiedPlus" sections of the
AOL, AOL.COM and CompuServe services.
AutoConnect will provide 19 million users on both AOL and
CompuServe as well as visitors to the AOL.COM Web site with
access to an online inventory of more than 750,000 used cars
and trucks through more than 31,000 dealers.
