The site looks cheesy. Can't help it, I love the stock and like its future, but the site looks cheesy. Still has the air of an Internet liquidator <g> to it.

Just MHO, of course, but I'm picky about these things because a good designer isn't much money and can make a world of difference. Color, image optimization, fonts, layout... The worst thing about all these (truly wonderful) WYSIWYG HTML tools is the same problem we hit when DTP first became accessible to us lay people: turns out there's more to it than just being able to lay down the page. The difference between a great first impression and a bad one is the art of design.

So BID.COM starts at a disadvantage: the excellent content (technology, capability, auctions themselves, etc) has to overcome the look of the site. Hope they're fixing it soon.
