Shust: Right on about shorting here. As I told Slider earlier-- the shorts have been massacred in many other sectors; time for them to pay their dues in OS. Major bull moves usually do not end until the shorts have been drawn in and skinned alive.

OSX closed just a touch over 72; up 9.35%.

Last night when I was out, a few of the Halliburton and SLB people were stating that in October/early November there will be lots of hiring going on.

I wouldn't look at PE ratios at this time when a sectors fundamentals seem to be changing. Companies are still making money in this kind of environment and from what I've seen this past year it has made them much leaner and meaner. For the long term investor who has hung on we will be looking back at this downturn as a blessing.

Consolidation hasn't really happened yet in the drilling sector. It's still going to happen.

Holding long. I just can't believe the amount of people who can't hold onto stocks for more than a week. Days for that matter. I'll bet that there are about 75% of people on this thread whose portfolios completely change within 1 year.
