Jaz is a niche product, appealing to a certain kind of user. It will never have broad market application and will probably continue to be marketed to professionals and power users. (This may not have been the original plan, but it is today's reality).

It is better to have products like this in your mix, than losing customers to the competition if the out grow your basic offering. To sell at a small profit, or even breakeven is not necessarily bad. I think as their operation streamlines (according to Glore) there is an opportunity to improve margins and profit on their lower volume offerings.

IMHO it is important that the company continues to broaden offerings and strengthen their image as the storage company. There will be some single base hits and the occassional homerun, but that is normal for most consumer products cos.
