Here's the response I just got from Datek:

I appreciate the opportunity to respond to your e-mail.

If you take the fraction 1/12 and convert it to a decimal you will get
.0833333. If you multiply this figure by your holdings, 3000 shares,
you will get a figure of 249.9999. Your account is then credited with
the full 249 shares, and the remaining .9999 shares is posted to your
account as cash. The partial share was then paid out at the rate of
$6.25 per share.

Well, I sent email back trying to explain it again.
