To Eric: I too have enjoyed the ride and expect to continue riding for years. Yours is the best explanation of the relationships I have read to date. Thanks. In brief then JDS Fitel supplies passive components and Uniphase supplies active components to Harmonic (HLIT) which in turn sets up optical systems for the likes of ITC and other cable system operators to enable them to carry data rapidly and efficiently. . And in addition, the new JDSUniphase will provide components directly to Ciena and other optical systems. Do I understand that correctly? Chaz too
