Grant, Here is a post from Raging Bull site that discusses DWDM by HILT. The post is by flint_fastfood our resident expert on that site: ragingbull.com Here is the portion of the post that discusses HILT: >>2. HLIT - started selling its DWDM to big shots like TCI before the Gigamux was commercially ready. BUT, it was designed more for cable operators to WDM their video outputs than to manage data (again LEARN FROM THAT TUTORIAL what the difference is!!!!!!). That is why they have not shot like a rocket since - they got their initial burst when TCI ordered a bunch of gear in 97-98, that was for fiber-exhaust. As AT&T and others got into TCI, it must have become obvious that they also needed to start looking at data more seriously, hence the NO MENTION of HLIT by Lucent or CIBC Oppenheimer in that report. Craig Crawford used to mention HLIT back in Dec 1997, so DON'T DREAM OF FLATTERING YOURSELF THAT YOU DUG IT UP AND RESEARCHED IT!<< Afaq Sarwar
