I have a brief average (?) investor story from today...A guy came into my office today and said "I guess everyone in the 401k program is now rich since last year". In other words, didn't know how to check balances...Didn't realize that it was highly dependant on what funds had been chosen. When I mentioned that in fact small caps had been in a down market for sometime, he said "But the dow is up"...I pointed out that the Dow was 30 stocks... "Which funds are you in?" "I'll have to check"...
