Paul, re: US GDP growth . The quarterly numbers are annualized so they are prone to distortions when one time events occur during the Q. The biggest factor in Q4 was the sharp production rebound from depressed strike levels at General Motors. There was also a surge in aircraft exports. Business Week ( Feb or March?)had an article covering this matter -sorry no date or url . The Commerce Dept. figured w/out one time special factors real GDP was at 3.5 % Mike
