Gracious, Nihil, what a very kind thing to say! I do think of you as a gentleman, witty, raffish, debonair, one who has seen and done so much that nothing surprises him any more. A tiny bit louche, perhaps, but still a gentleman. A student of natural philosophy, a member of the Academy.

I hope we continue to communicate as if we are floating in space, disembodied voices in each other's minds. Not that I don't wonder what you all look like, but I would have to get dressed up, and I would find that tedious.

That's well done, Nihil. A little more elevated than I pictured our forest. Not personally, because these trees are the tallest that don't make me cringe, but being seen that way from one hiking in.

(See? No John Muirs here.)

The graciousness is the key. They let people be here.

I was trying to explain to my wife about this community. How smart they were. How the collective knowledge was so much greater than that of any one. How it pursued truth and decency and tolerance, while telling dirty jokes and playing ridiculous games.

Eeyup. A most pithy summation of the wenches. Not to mention their fascination with Small Electrical Appliances and cannibalism.
