The last time I looked at a column of vehicles from 10,000 ft., at mach 1, they sure looked like Serbs to me. I suppose I would have based my judgement by whether or not I expected there to be Serb columns in the area, and there reportedly were, and whether or not hostile fire had originated from that area. It had. What I do find odd is that until that particular refugee column, almost all refugees (deportees) had not been allowed to leave with large numbers of heavy vehicles, much less organized into a cohesive convoy. On the whole, Serb authorities had restricted them to what they could carry on their backs or haul in wagons. At the best, they were allowed to depart in their private vehicles. You don't suppose the Serbs allowed them (ordered them?) to form that convoy and then took a couple of pot shots at NATO aircraft just to see what would happen? Nah! That would run contrary to their legacy as humanitarians and envoys of peace.
