Amy,

Re. Ibexx, that's an interesting way to announce news! (i.e. loudspeaker)

This is a major NY brokerage house where every trader/broker has a Bloomberg machine that spouts out the most current stuff. However, I can imagine, during brisk trading hours, each one of them would not have the luxury of time to look up all breaking news--thus the loudspeaker for issues of common interest.

Frequently, I heard things in the background while I talked to my brokers on the phone. One time, I remember, it was announced that "big foreign money is coming in... " I decided to skip a trip to the City that day to avoid the traffic snarls created by Brinkman trucks in lower Manhattan. :-)

About the references, I am still trying to located a couple of posts contributed by professional option traders to the Intel thread. Basically they were delineating the dynamics of buying the call options by speculative investors ( as an example) and their selling latter that created the price retreats. Perhaps some old times of this thread still keep these posts in their files.

Regular books address this point also--but only indirectly.

Rregards,
ibexx
