I checked into RIM. The NASDAQ listing announcement in their case was also made by NASDAQ ... rather than the company itself and it was made the day trading commenced - not in advance.

newswire.ca

The wording of the announcement is virtually identical to the ATI announcement... obviously a relatively fixed format which is simply customized for the specific company.

It is also interesting to note that ATI was listed on a Tuesday and RIM on a Thursday.... so any speculations that firms are more likely to start trading on a Monday do not appear to hold.

In any event, it appears that they may just pop up unexpectedly on the NASDAQ any day now and we may not receive any advance notification of this fact. And I thought this past week was a bit of a roller coaster ride!!!!
