I was reading an interesting article last week that speculated that in a few years we would all have fuel cells to run our homes... as opposed to hooking into local power grids. Imagine... all the power you want for the cost of a few gallons of water. In any event I've been interested in fuel cell techology for a long time... given that cold fusion seems to be beyond our grasp at the present. One of the things I really liked about GLE however is their expertise in remote power supply... the potential market for fuel cells is in many ways wasted on automobiles.
As the market leaders in remote power supply they really have the potential to lock up this market rapidly. I believe that the auto connection is great... because it will provide the incentive and resources to bring the technology to the forefront... but I think the long term potential goes far beyond cars.
Having said that, I think that each step forward for this technology will benefit all the players... including Balland, et. al. I wouldn't go shorting anybody right away.
