All -- When I was a kid, I spent the summer of '69 at the Illinois Institute of Technology, courtesy of the NSF, learning Fortran IV programming. They had an IBM 360/40 that took up the basement of the gymnasium, and then some. RJE with cards, turnaround times, card punches, the whole nine yards. Just think - my current IBM Aptiva is about 30 times more powerful than that behemoth, cost less than 1/100k, and sits politely in a corner of my room.
