Catlady, I may not be a longtime member of SI, but I have been alive for a long time. No benefit to hiding that they are short? Are you kidding me? The moment they declare that they are short, there goes their credibility because they have self-interest in the stock (unless of course they had something substantive to say which they do not). And like I said before, they have literally spent the past 24 hours posting negativity about various stocks. All night long. I am sorry but SI is not that much fun. These people are not just innocently alerting others that something smells funny. And I hope you are not part of the contingent.

Underlining the point you're getting at, if 'bashers' could short these trash stocks under conventional arrangements, instead of needing a margin account the size of Texas with an MM who handles retail, they'd do it. Then they'd be shorters. And you're correct, there wouldn't be a problem disclosing it. The sheep assume it anyway&#151there's no profit/benefit to saying otherwise.

Alas, logic falls on deaf ears.
