I said as ..a basis for resource estimates.., what I meant by basis was, you gotta have some idea where - in your own words - to sample trenches, drill holes etc. Remote sensing can, and does show specific types of surficial mineralization. From there, these locales are field tested, or ground truthed. Thus a resource can be spatially defined in three dimensions. Based on a known production capacity, a 4th dimension - time - can also be defined and or estimated.
