"Until Secretariat broke his leg." Did secretariat break his leg? I thought secretariat just retired? There was another horse in the 70s called ruffian I think that was a beautiful horse that broke his leg and had to be killed. I was a kid at the time but it was a sad day in racing... was that one of the triple crown races where that happened? This ruffian was said to have tremendous potential and was a huge horse. Sorry for the OT rambling, just an interesting subject matter.
