> The point I was trying to make was that if now is the time for the US to start, with NATO, as being cop so be it. I disagree...Now all the countries not friendly to the US will take a hard look at the whole situation and do the obvious because they definitely see the writing on the wall: Arm themselves and , of course, acquire the ultimate weapon NUKES...Did you think nato would be bombing right now if the Yugoslavs had nukes? > If there was a return to the mass genocied in Africa that was experienced a few years ago and the world did not step in I would be totally depressed. I have no doubt in my mind that you will be totally depressed. As a matter of fact you should be depressed right now since a lot more horrible stuff has been happening all over the world. In comparison, the KLA terrorist conflict paled in comparison to what is going everywhere else. > I, (maybe naively) am hoping that the western world has finally decided to step up and say no to this barbarism wherever it occurs. I think you are being naive IMHO. > No matter how you cut it, Milosevic, is dead wrong in what he has comitted in Yugoslavia.A true leader of a country must find a way for it to work, eliminating all opposition is the cowards way out.I understand that atrocities have been comitted by the Muslim side over the years as well but his, (Milosevic's) was not the solution. If every country in the world decided to kick out or kill all non founding or majority population within its borders because of difference of the way people want to live their lives, the whole world would be awash in blood.(NOT TRYING TO MAKE SIMPLE THIS MOST COMPLICATED AND LONG STANDING PROBLEM) Again, I repeat that NATO bombs changed EVERYTHING. Before that this was a low level conflict with some ruthless terrrorist hell bent on independence and Yugoslav police doing their job of "being tough" on terrorists. The Rauimbullet agreement was a sham for the Serbs, no leader would sign that crap. Before then all these refugees were living much better in their homes. Allbright orchestrated this whole thing from the beginning for her and her administration's own reasons. Obviously they miscalculated big time and now they keep bombing for a lack of a better alternative policy and not wanting to be "perceived" as having lost the battle. As far as the people leaving Kosovo I believe NATO bombs are playing a key role in this. Think of yourself what would you do if the "awesome" Western firepower rained bombs on the territory where you live? Heck I would take my family and go to a safer place to wait this thing out. Of course I am not defending the Serbs for helping the exodus but I do see clearly why they are doing this....They are defending the sovereignty of their Country from the enemy! All these Yugoslav citizens who happen to be Albanian all want NATO to bomb Yugoslavia, in other words they are all traitors. At the same time Yugoslavs know that they are in war so they do everything to disrupt the enemy and having so many refugees to take care of sure helps their cause don't you think? But they have repeatedly stated that they want them back but each bomb sure makes it that much harder to accept them back. But if they will agree to autonomy and forget about independence and have an international peacekeeping force NOT dominated by Nato countries I am sure the Yugoslavs they would gladly agree to that as they have stated numerous times before... Meanwhile the cowardly way of bombing their country to pieces is continued while the refugees suffer in Albania and Macedonia... What a tragic joke!
