The Nasdaq went down 11% in October.

re: the current situation

The Advance-Decline for the NYSE and for the Nasdaq have been diverging for two weeks. The A-D line for NYSE has been in an uptrend while the Nasdaq's has been declining. Barrons' Up and Down Wall Street column this week seems to be expecting a blow-off in the small caps as the last speculative phase.
