PMS/ re laptop stuff. Thanks. I would very much like a machine that I can use while riding on rough roads in a pickup truck. The G- figures simply mean that I will need a bit of soft padding to put the machine on. Since the laptop will be sitting on the truck seat, it should be OK so long as it doesn't bounce off. I'll look at the Dell. How about this for a qualification: I would like a detachable display, so that I can mount it in a convenient position in the cab. In this scenario, much of the computer's work would be accomplished without requiring convenient access to the keyboard. Am I starting to tread in dreamland?
