At appears the Microsoft drivers for DirectX6.1 do not render all polygons on the PIII's SIMD instructions. In fact it appears to render a little over half. No wonder it yields nearly double the performance. It's all a big f*cking joke. If you look at it logically for DX 6.1, the PIII instructions add maybe 2% to frame rate.

HMMMM.. Another Intel sham? We'll see. If I can borrow a PIII machine this week I'll toss together a couple quick benchmarks coded myself and we'll see if this is something that is constant.
