betty,

The VLAD thinks the Vivus board would be very WISE to announce a stock buy back. Let's say that they can approve a buy back of 2M shares to be bought from time to time on the open market as determined by our new CFO. Vivus would not be obligated to buy back these share but the approval would be there. This time around instead of buying shares to prop up the price (like the old CFO did at $15 in January 1998) they can buy on any significant pull backs. I think such an announcement would be a major nail into the short interest's coffins. I would tell them that the more they try to push down the share price, the more shares Vivus can take out of the float which will make it that much harder for the shorts to cover later on in time as more good news comes forward. In fact I believe that upon such announcement we probably would see a pop as some of the dumb shorts would smarten up and realize that Vivus now has an AGENDA to destroy the short's AGENDA. What do you think?
