Nice post over on Yahoo:

we own the “Convergence”

All,

Do not loose sight that we own the “Convergence” of
the “Internet and the Television”. Liberty's attorneys
have reviewed our patents, and they are confident that
they will stand up in court. It is not ACTV's intention to
sue everyone in sight, and it makes much more sense to
license our technology then fight them in court, but none
the less they will not allow others to infringe. John
Malone is a brilliant man, and the smart money that has
followed him has been well rewarded for decades.
Malone's vision of the “Walled Garden” is no longer
only a vision and his recent moves with TCI Music and
the fact that he hand picked Lee Masters to manage his
interactive play is absolutely huge for us.

Bill Samuels has done an amazing job of not only
insuring we have strong patents, but he also had the
vision to understand the importance of the convergence
years ago. He and David Reese have put together
partnerships with the absolute largest and most powerful
players in the industry and they have earned the respect
and trust on companies like Liberty and GIC, who are
both equity investors.

We own the “Convergence” and on Monday we will all
have the opportunity to hear about our future and also
talk to the “Keeper of the Magic” the inventor of
HyperTV. No other companies speak in terms of the
convergence like ACTV does, and it should be evident
that we alone own this space, and will soon be
recognized for it.

And I haven't even gotten into our Individualized
Television business, which has come onto Ruport
Murdoch radar screen in a big way. IMO we will be
launching in mid-July and Ruport has been scrambling to
put his sports empire in play.

You know, when this stock was a $2 stock and I was complaining all the time, I often heard it mentioned on the old thread that we were Malone's trump card. I wondered if that could be true and, of course, I always hoped we were. Suddenly, I get the feeling that this was one of the best kept secrets in the history of the market. Surely Malone knew of our patents and what they could mean once the actual "convergence" began to happen. And Samuels knew too what he was sitting on. And now, some in the press ridicule Malone for "creating" wealth by shifting assets around. I don't view that is being sly at all. This man knows what he is doing. He is about to unleash a new way of doing things into the world. It's about change and creating opportunities. And little ole ACTV is sitting right in the middle of these grandiose plans.
