I don't dispute that the HPB is under-funded.

I also don't dispute the possibility/probability that Pennsaid will be approved soon. However I believe that the open study that has seen Pennsaid used by over 3000 patients is a key part. This data wasn't available with the initial submission to HPB and I believe that is why the approval is so long in coming. The data on Celebrex was far more extensive and convincing - that is why they were approved quickly.

Celebrex is owned by Monsanto. The Canadian government recently rejected the sale of another Monsanto product (BST) despite it being approved in the US. Maybe the rubber stamp was lost that day.

Though you seem to say it facetiously, I do like your idea of "one big UN focused health protection group". The number of drug submissions is increasing very rapidly and its hard for any government to keep up.
