D: "I am prepared to buy another 1000 of SFAM at 11 and MTSN at 6. What is going on
here with these current prices? I've heard about gifts before, but SFAM redefines the
word. Looking at a 5 year price graph is astounding. It is over 80% off its all time high
of over 60. Do you really think we should buy a company in this sector this far off its
highs with no debt, a Cur ratio of 9 and a huge installed base at the end of the worst
recession in the history of the industry? Are you sure we should rush in like this?
Shouldn't we wait at least until the stock is at 25 so that we know for sure that
the world will indeed not end soon? "

D, AMAT has done some damage not doubt but it is more than fully reflected in the SFAM share price. I have talked to analysts about this company and they give me the standard line that AMAT is winning blah, blah, blah. Maybe for now but so what. Compare the fundamentals and the valuation, Mr. Analyst, and tell me that AMAT has not been priced in as owning the entire market and tell me that SFAM is not priced as a company headed for bankruptcy. Now which company will at least double off the current price, SFAM or AMAT? Hello....

Hey, Mr. Market, SFAM has everything for the lemming institutional investor. It is priced like a value stock and they have plenty of growth and it is even cyclical. And this puppy is a small cap. Now what more could you ask for after last week?

Buyer beware. SFAM has a HUGE short position with over 12 days to cover as of the end of March. Now this may be arbitrage related as one could buy IPEC at a discount to SFAM prior to merger in early April. I will be watching the April numbers.

Great post. It makes you wonder what would happen if we get that correction.

I am really looking forward to looking back at the runup in this sector. I am hoping the peak of the sector follows Marty Whitman's prediction; that being, the semis are going to exceed everyone's expectations in the next up cycle. If that is the case and the market as a whole is completely euphoric at the time I think some of these stocks will rise exponentially.

I think Bob believes there is more upside too.
