In regards to OEM Zip250's current positive margins, don't forget that Zip100 also used to have positive margins. As Zip100 is phased out, expect a drop in OEM Zip250 margins as well. Don't be too suprised when a year from now, Iomega is lamenting that OEM Zip250 also has "Negative Gross Margins." Iomega needs retail sales. OEM sales are killing Iomega.

Ken, I don't think that the cost of a floppy drive vs Zip (or something else) will be relevant forever, or even 2 or 3 years. Eventually the need for a floppy simply ends. The floppy is really obsolete now, it is there because of the "old" disks floating around. At some point in time mfrs. will not build boxes with floppies, the $18 will go towards the replacement drive which will cost more than $18...whether it comes from IOM or someone else. archcc
