Mark, I'm still around. I sharply increased my position in SFY when it was under 6 and I'm just holding. My other big holding is XTO, which has also been doing well. With hindsight, I'm sorry that I didn't put a greater percentage of my portfolio in E&P stocks a while ago. On any significant pull back, I intend to increase my position.

OT. One of my favorite non-tech stocks (most of my holdings are in the tech sector) is FLOW. They are a leader in the manufacture of water cutting tools. What makes the stock interesting is their Fresher Under Pressure equipment, which kills pathogens in fresh food without heating. They recently signed an agreement with a seafood processor and have a test program going with Tropicana. If Fresher Under Pressure takes off, the size of the company will double. Meanwhile, the company is growing earnings at about 20% a year and sells for a reasonable p/e.

Mark,

Thanks for the links. What about looking at the relationship of SFY's stock price to operating cash flow? IMO the single most important stat for an O&G company is cash flow from operations, not earnings.

Wondering why Swift has such a low drilling budget for this year as compared to its cash flow and borrowing power. They are barely planning to spend their cash flow. Given the projected rise in commodity prices (the beginning of which we are already experiencing) it would seem that a more aggressive drilling budget would be in order. If I were Earl I would start planning to drill a whole bunch of Austin Chalk wells this summer. Figure they will come on line by the fall, when gas prices will really be going idiotic as forecasted.

Immense volume today with little price change action. Looks like the institutions are trading this one amongst each other.
