the volume speaks volumes.<ggg> re: sound on the mother board. i don't think so. packard bell, in their propriatary wisdom , combined sound card and modems. if you lost one , you lost all. not a good idea.(as they found out). intc needs other vendors to make their products sing.(pun intended)intels new camino chip, due for release in sept., will use rdram from rambus(rmbs) and will run at 500mghz+. the periferals will now be able to show their stuff because the memory will now support them. Maybe creaf has done a big deal with dell,compac,or hp., to produce their sound cards or video cards. "SOUNDBLASTER Inside" would be a big selling point,especially as rmbs is going to be in high end pcs. first and to show off all that speed you need to use great cards. but ,who knows? monday may tell. rocky ps. i still think a bid is in for takeover. again, the volume all in 2hrs. on an option experation fri. afternoon. sounds like somebody wanted in before news hits sun. or mon. pps. WHERE IS DENNIS WHEN WE NEED HIM ??????????
