ProcessBoy, I was just reading something very interesting in the ol' AMD Winhec presentation. Apparently it looks as though Microsoft is planning on improving their compiler for alternative CPUs. This would really signal a change in things. A lot of Intel's performance gains come form the fact that every major compiler optimizes specifically for the Intel pipelines and in so doign penalizes other CPUs. Imagine code tuned for a K7.. cool.. Regards, Steve
