Glorious weather today. A buddy called up and advised me to select the day's armory because we were going to the range. We spent four hours there making neat little holes in distant sheets of paper. On the way back off the mountain, we passed through a rich little town called Saratoga. This is the first weekend of the year with nice weather, and like a tidal rhythm compelling the grunion - it drew all the crisp young rich girls into light wardrobe and out onto the sidewalk. It was a sight for sore eyes. The conversation drifted to something mentioned here, I think ... girls in bib overalls and no T-shirts. Buddy is old enough to remember those times. We fell silent, and he piloted the GMC 4wd onto the sun-shocked ribbon of Highway 85. Out of the blue, he utters a Keeper. "A dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste."
