The National Post reports in its Wednesday, April 14, edition that
Global Thermoelectric investors backed off their initial enthusiasm
over the Calgary-based firm's success in supplying heaters to United
States military vehicles, along with breakthroughs in its fuel cell
technology. The company says the testing of its oxide fuel cells under
high temperatures resulted in power output 100 per cent higher than
competitive cells.

Kevin Hamlin is correct in his assessment of 1/2 the size, and twice the power.
Michael, the Chief told you he called the company and got the conformation....That is the best he could say...He never phoned the company and got an email...they told him over the phone...how could anyone be more clear...It is stated in the major papers in the nation, he also said that...Read his post again!!!!Matey

So you're waiting for somebody to show up on your doorstep with a couple of fuel cells, maybe?

Not sure what you're doing here. This is where people discuss what they know, what they've heard, and what they think about it all. Your idea of "valid information" seems to be only what appears in news releases. So just read the news releases already and you'll know everything there is to know! Right?

Respectfully,
JP

<<<I have no idea who you are>>> ???? what does that mean ????

I guess I should have rephrased that. Let me try again. We are a new group to this company/thread,(there are older ones) some bought on the rise. Some of us have called the company to "grill" the head of the Fuel Cell division. His information is, as I presented it, and as Kevin Hamlin has presented it. I noticed in your profile that you are a BLD supporter, We really don't want this to become a Ballard vs GLE thread..so jumped to an unwarranted conclusion...for that I apologize.

i just wanted him to back up his claim, i thought people on here who were honest and sincere would be able to do so

The fact that we can't lay our hands on newreleases is because the company was really not prepared for the overwhelming response to the fuel cell NR. When I talked with Mr. Lumsden, his honest impression was that he thought the stock may rise to $1.50,,,not because it wasn't worth more, but he felt that the Canadian public may not recognize there accomplishments. The europeans are very excited!

so are you saying you are confirming that the gle fuel cell is half the size of ballards with twice the power output? that would be quite helpful if you could confirm this please, since you were able to call...i think it would be appreciated by everyone here.

I am confirming a phone call with Mr. Jim Lumsden that lasted about 45 minutes. Where he gave me a crash course on fuel cells. Where when asked for a comparison between there fuel cell and the ballard fuel cell he replied. The following;

If you were to take a GLE fuel cell that is 5' x 5" x 8" we can generate "twice the power out of that cell than Ballard's PEM can"
Ballard requires a fuel cell of twice the size to generate the same power.

This is not a "quote" but its the closest I can come to one. Yes I confirm that is what he said!

i just need real information in order to make a correct investment decision

I knew that is why you were asking and was probably a bit abrupt (I apologize for that Paquette does that to me) That is why I sent you the PM and now the phone number. Don't invest in anything that is said on an SI thread....especially in this early stage of development. Call Mr. Lumsden Monday and get the facts, he is very cngenial and an easy going fellow. Although that may change after all this publicity!
