David, Yes....IDX may begin backing up tomorrow.......the run could be over.......or it could be just beginning. Is it a run?.....or is it something more? Nothing can be more fun than sticking your neck out.....So flame me...this is what these boards are for....discussing the prospects of little stocks. Why did IDT decide to join up with IDX instead of going public? Most agree it would have been a cool little IPO......Big $. Answer......Combine IDX, IDT, and Fingerscan...and you have 70% of the market....and the most powerful BioID company in the "now attention drawing"....biometric world. At what time does IDX decide that It's future is with Oracle, Compaq, CA, and HP.......rather than rebuilding the White House, managing construction projects, and busting their butt to get INS business? Now......If Identix sells off the divisions that are viewed as low growth, low margin, government stuff.......and redirect the capital into building...and funding the Bio-ID division....it could be a wonderful experience from any viewpoint you choose. Investors in IDX are not here for the White house construction projects or the INS sales. They are here for the future of Bio-ID......Oracle, Compaq, HP. This is not rocket science.....IDX sells off the live-scan division and the Anadac division and the fingerprint services......raises some serious cash......and goes on a shopping spree. A facial recognition purchase, and an Iris scaning purchase.....and plenty of cash in the bank. Investors will go nuts....industry consolidation. I have no doubt this would work....and needs to be done. I think Ascom could see their investment triple from these levels....I think IDX does it, or someone will come along and do it for them. I believe the institutional interest showing up...blowing off a earning bombshell indicates there are major changes/developments ahead. Yes....I believe Lockheed Martin would be a buyer for the Live scan division and the Fingerprint services division......I don't care how they may feel about Fowler personally...Business is business. LM has a "Afis data base for hire"....and could leverage this into the fingerprint services division....and they have a major deal with NEC for afis. Jeesh, David, these are perfect fits for LM. Anadac?......who knows...any large defense contractor. I think IDX goes forward......without these divisions. Doing these things.......IDX secures the 70% of the market that folks care about. Anadac and live-scan have done a great job keeping the lights on.......but it is now time to leverage assets into higher growth areas. In a way....I'm saying that the time to go 100% Bio-ID....is now....Pure play...... It is time to position for it. What do you think? Since I have been the only one to pay my Commission dues.....This is now the official position. Big question...."why would IDT do that?"....I think the answer is in the above post. bg ps. Wendell for steve today!......Vey nice.
