Explanation of Saturday's down time from ProNETLink: Thanks go to Pete1 from ragingbull <<Reasons for some of the down time. I e-mailed Mr.Z about this and have noticed the quick responses and commitment he and the company has to producing a quality product. Here is what he had to say. This should make everyone feel good about the quick response his team has to any problems that may occur which happen with any company out there today.>> Dear Peter, Thank you for your support of ProNetLink. We successfully launched the Global Trade Internetwork at 8:00am on Friday and we received positive reviews from all over the world regarding its design and functionality. The ProNetLink site was now ready to accept data and begin working. In fact, the site was hit with more information at one time then we had planned for. This is not to say that the site cannot handle large amounts of data, because it can, but two things happened. First we were hit with everyone trying at once to do the same thing...add their company data and set up their customized portal. This rush of information on the first moment of the first day did not allow time for us to debug the data streams and the system while they were in operation. After about 8 hours of operation errors started showing up do to this overload. Our development team reacted immediately and these errors have been fixed. The second event of the day was finding out that some members were still using the old www.pnlk.com address. We stopped marketing this address almost a year ago and frankly, it slipped through the cracks during our development meetings. This was our mistake, but understandable due to the fact that everywhere you look you see us marketing www.pronetlink.com, not www.pnlk.com. This old URL, when accessed by systems that may have stored it in their memory, showed the sign-in page of the old site but with the new registration form. This complicated issues when some members started to add data to this disregarded system. Once again our programmers found the problem quickly, removed the old URL and the errors caused by it have been fixed. As with any new product there is a shake out period in which bugs are found and fixed. The ProNetLink site is incredibly complicated due to the interactive nature of its functions. And that is what makes it superior. Our development team is completely dedicated to providing the best product on the Internet and will continue to grow and refine the system. We apologize for any inconvenience these errors may have caused while using the ProNetLink site. The site is up and running and we are looking forward to the IBE show on Wednesday. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me directly.
