f they can convey satellite TV then satellites should sure be handle the bytes/second required for the internet. Satellites can be used quite effectively for internet, look at Loral/Orion, Cyberstar and Teledesic. Iridium satellites (and globalstar) though are designed for telephony, not TV or the net. You can't really repurpose these constellations. Is it true that IRID has more birds up there at lower altitudes than any of the competitors. Yes. This give them significant coverage advantages but also a significant price disadvantage. Dragonfly
