If I can tip toe through all the pissing that's going on in this thread...

I have been watching the Intel/Fore business partnership mature over the past year. The relationship was announced over a year ago at Interop '98. And due to current market conditions for the PC industry, the partnership appears more opportunistic now for all parties. Intel needs to expand, and Fore needs some added muscle in the Enterprise Networking arena. Although speculative, I believe his marriage could work.

If it's true that Gill turned down a 40+ offer from Lucent some time ago, I would think that Intel could provide the necessary purse strings to seal the deal.
