William, I assume you are old enough to have witnessed the junk bond sleaze that occurred during the 80's? The entire brokerage industry endorsed those actions, and lots of people became incredibly wealthy.

Then, unfortunately, the bottom fell out and people lost everything. (and some ended up in jail)

The street essentially just converted a billion in Amazon's debt to equity this week. That's one hell of an endorsement.
