KeepItSimple, I hope you don't misunderstand me.
What I meant was not to put all eggs in one basket, that is AMZN. Whether AMZN is a
wild success or not is too early to say. I meant to say that one has to invest in this
company, even if he/she allocated only 2-3% of his portfolio. Not investing in AMZN at
all would be costly. Even bears can't totally rule out AMZN. No, I never advocated
betting all farm on AMZN, it's simply too risky. In my portfolio, I have more money in
ATHM. I spread the rest of money among YHOO, EBAY and AMZN. I only have about
5% of money in AMZN. I feel ATHM is the safest among them, that's why I weighted it
more.

Jing,

Your post is the most practical of many of late. You admit that the top tier nets have a great deal of risk. You also concluded that ATHM has the most likelyhood of success. Your point is well taken. Some exposure to this sector is good. Choose the firm that one believes has the most likelyhood of success and diversify. Do not place a lot of ones portfolio in this sector. It is a high risk/return sector.

You believe strongly in ATHM. I suspect some have more confidence in AMZN and others in YHOO. No one "really" knows until the future is here so to speak. I have more confidence in AOL.

I like your strategy.

Glenn

Precisely, the above are excellent reasons that Amzn is an excellent trading stock and will be for a long time for the traders.

Who are the Amzn players? The growth/net funds, the retailers and the e-traders and last but not the least, the insiders; bond holders..etc. The retailers will always buy Amzn but cannot buy much or add much due to the 80-100% cash requirements, Unless you sell high, you cannot buy low. Analyze all the "players", their strengths and weakness as groups, then we can better "guess" the directions and momentum of this stock and make more $$$.

The short interest is always going to be the most important element; keep our eyes on that too.
