D.Sphincter,

>>>> years from now some one will come up with an indicator that says
"if the DOW closes higher for 4 consecutive days while the SP closes lower each day and the Trannies go ballistic while my hemorroids dangle like cauliflower and the RUT lies like cheap sod while the Utilities show no energy.....then buy CAT.com, cause they project more negative growth but will go up 50%+" <<<<

Good going, and you had me cracking up, trying not to visualize your
physical attributes. ggggggggggggg

Sphinkty-guy, >>>can not recall EVER seeing such a divergence between the SP and DOW, 4 higher closes for DOW while SP had 4
lower<<<

based on spx/dow data from 1953, it has not happened before -
neither has 3 lower/higher

on naz/dow, 4 has not happened on data from 1971

3 in a row:

08/11/75 823.76
07/08/82 804.98
10/17/83 1268.7
05/17/94 3720.61
12/08/93 3734.53
08/20/96 5721.26
03/03/98 8584.83

seems like a statistical quirk more than anything else

btw, if you fill a flat internet tire with Preperation H to get rolling,
don't forget to actually fix the tire - otherwise the tire will go flat again
