Harry, I ran into the same problem as you trying to listen to TLAB. Must be part of cost control!

Rising DSO(higher accounts receivable), backend-loaded quarter, sales of cablespan being below plans were a few concerns in the previous call. However, the stock went up after the call last quarter!!!

I think the stock sold off this time because on sequential basis they earned 10c less than previous quarter. However, as you know, Q1 is always softer for TLAB & most telecom equipment stocks.

They announced a couple of new products, which has also been a concern with TLAB. Can TLAB continue generating sales growth in mid 40% and EPS growth in low 50% in the coming quarters? Tough to do.

As far as xDSL, I've read the same as far businesses going the way of SDSL.

The way I see it, cable companies got the ball rolling last year by offering high-speed internet access without having to solidify standards and worry about issues such as, "can we deliver broadband access to n% of population living 18,000 feet beyond a CO?". The ADSL folks have been dragging their feet with numerous trials for years. WS recognized that and got sick of them. They are now playing catch up in the residential space by offering ADSL to a limited number of homes. In the business space, they are shooting themselves in the foot, by having to offer SDLS & ISDL at ~1/10 of T-1 rates.

BTW, RBOCs & LECs should be happy since FCC approved higher Subscriber Line Charges(SLC) for second phone lines: $6.07 vs. $3.5 for the 1st line.
