However, if the mass of newbie internut investors are willing to give an endless supply of
"money to burn" to any company that has ".com" attached to its name, then I suppose
CEOs dont have to worry about mundane things like profits. They can just keep taking
money from the public to fund ever-increasing losses. (While they quietly cash in their
billions in stock options, keeping their old hondas parked out front so the public doesnt
realize they are being duped)

The new economy is that even the CEO says outright that he doesn't care about profit. In fact, Bezzos said that "It is a mistake to show profit...". That's not that he doesn't want a profit. He wanted to recycle all the profit back into expansion. Showing a profit now means he didn't expand aggressively. After he conquered the world, the profit will come handsomely.
